Giants season ticket holders got a chance to have their picture taken with the World Series trophy last week. I took some of my softball teammates and former San Francisco Chronicle colleagues, and we waited in line an hour at our appointed time for our moment.
It was a cool, foggy afternoon and the line stretched from under the right field archways at AT&T Park to Lefty O’Doul Bridge. When you got to the front of the line, you literally had one shot with the photographer, and the next group moved in. It went by so quick I really didn’t get a chance to stare at the trophy.
I’m still in a little disbelief that the Giants actually won the World Series but seeing the trophy made it all too real. What a great idea by the Giants to give such a great treat to season ticket holders.
